            The Danbury Fire Department is one of 16 winners nationwide of the 2003 ConAgra Foods Foundation Community Service Awards.   Awards this year totaled $200,000. The Danbury Fire Department has been awarded a $15,000.00 grant.  The money will be used towards the purchase of a new fire truck.

           Con Agra Foods Foundation Community Service Awards are given annually to nonprofit organizations that provide exceptional service to communities where ConAgra Foods has operations.  The Danbury Fire Department was nominated for the award by  Tom McBride, area manager for UAP Midwest and Danbury Farm Supply which employs 11 people at Danbury location.

Tom McBride, Area Manager for UAP Midwest stated “It is essential that local fire departments remain well structured, organized, and equipped in today’s environment”.

Ed Ortner, Manager of Danbury Farm Supply said that “Danbury Farm Supply feels very fortunate to have such a well staffed fire department in case of an emergency at this facility”.
