On Saturday morning, October 28, 2000 members of the Danbury Volunteer Fire
Department participated in a controlled burn training exercise in Sgt Bluff.  
It is estimated that over 1 million gallons of water was pumped onto the fire. 
It took nearly 3 hours to burn the elevator down to the ground.
